Pesan A7X Tentang Mike Portnoy

For the past few months, we’ve been blessed with Mike Portnoy’s talent and humanity. When Mike agreed to tour with us, it was only through the end of 2010. We always knew we’d need to find another solution for 2011 and beyond. And it’s time for us to take that next step.

We know we are not ready to add another permanent member of Avenged Sevenfold. We don’t know if we will ever be. But if we do, it will only be with someone who is not only a brilliant drummer, but also someone we’ve gotten to know well on the road and off, and who you the fans have had a chance to get to know, and hopefully accept. In other words, in this family, we take these steps together, band and our extended fan family.

We are lucky to be surrounded by so many friends, many of whom knew Jimmy very well personally, as well as our band and Jimmy’s drumming talent and style. These friends have introduced us to several amazing drummers. We have decided to take one of them out starting in January. He will not be a member of a7x. He will be someone you and we are getting to know. Perhaps this drummer will be a fit. Perhaps not. One thing is for sure. Over time we will find someone who helps us continue our quest to make the music we love for the fans we love.

Mike and the band agree that can’t be him. Why? Long before there was an Avenged Sevenfold, there were members of this band who looked up to Mike and, in Jimmy’s case, learned a lot from watching Mike play. He is a brilliant writer, producer and of course drummer. Because of that, the world and we would always see it as Avenged Sevenfold with Mike Portnoy. We take a lot of pride in A7X being about something greater then any individuals. Its about the music, the fans and the friends and family we have as well as continuing our best friends legacy.

Please give whoever we try your love and support….and the benefit of the doubt. They won’t be Jimmy. Who could be? But he will be himself, with his own special talents and creativity. And that’s all we could ever look for.

PERSONIL AVENGED SEVENFOLD

Avenged Sevenfold adalah band Hardrock Amerika dari Huntington Beach, California, yang dibentuk pada tahun 1999. Band ini terdiri dari vokalis M. Shadows, lead guitar Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance rhythm guitar, dan bassist Johnny Christ.
Avenged Sevenfold muncul dengan genre metalcore pada debut mereka Sounding the Seventh Trumpet, yang mengandung banya vokal scream. Band ini mengubah gaya mereka di album ketiga mereka dan rilis major label, City of Evil, yang menampilkan vokal melodis dan power ballad. Brian adalah anak pertama. Dia mempunyai adik bernama Brent, Johnny, dan McKenna. Ayahnya, Brian Elwin Haner Sr. (biasa dipanggil dengan nama Papa Gates), adalah seorang pelawak dan gitaris professional. Ibu kandungnya bernama Jan. Ibu tirinya, Suzy Haner, adalah seorang ahli hipnotis.
Orang tua Brian cerai ketika Brian berumur sepuluh tahun. Dua tahun kemudian, ayahnya menikah lagi dengan Suzy.

 Brian mendapatkan gitar pertamanya dari nenek dan kakeknya. Salah satu lagu pertama yang ia pelajari adalah lagu Stairway to Heaven karya Led Zeppelin. Ketika Brian duduk di kelas 6, ia sudah bisa menebak chord dari sebuah lagu hanya dengan menggunakan pendengarannya. Setelah Brian diberi gitar, dia mengatakan bahwa sekolah sudah tidak ada gunanya. Nilai bagus hanya dia peroleh sampai ia duduk di kelas 4.

Brian memasuki grup musik Avenged Sevenfold sebagai gitaris ketika ia berumur 18 tahun di akhir tahun 1999. Dia juga memainkan piano pada lagu “Beast and the Harlot” dan “Sidewinder”.

James Owen Sullivan

POSISI : Dumer Avenged Sevenfold

Lebih dikenal dengan nama The Rev atau The Reverend Tholomew Plague) adalah seorang drummer sekaligus backing vocal Avenged Sevenfold. The Rev juga sempat menjadi penyanyi utama pada grup musik Pinkly Smooth.
The Rev adalah anak tunggal. Pada masa kecilnya, dia seringkali dikeluarkan dari sekolah. The Rev juga sudah tujuh kali masuk penjara karena kejadian-kejadian seperti berkelahi di dalam bar.

KEMTIAN THE REV
Tubuh Sullivan ditemukan di rumahnya pada tanggal 28 Desember 2009 di usia 28. Kematiannya dilaporkan sebagai penyebab alami namun hasil otopsi yang dilakukan pada tanggal 30 Desember 2009 hasilnya tidak meyakinkan. Pada tanggal 9 Juni 2010, penyebab kematian itu terungkap setelah intoksikasi akut polydrug yang disebabkan efek gabungan dari oksikodon (OxyContin), oxymorphone (metabolit oksikodon), diazepam (Valium), nordiazepam (metabolit diazepam) dan alkohol. Kardiomegali (pembesaran jantung) dilaporkan sebagai "kondisi yang signifikan" yang mungkin telah memainkan peran dalam kematiannya.
Pada tanggal 5 Januari 2010, sebuah pemakaman pribadi diadakan untuk Sullivan, dan sehari kemudian ia dimakamkan di Huntington Beach, California. Avenged Sevenfold berdedikasi dalam album kelima mereka, Nightmare,untuk Sullivan.

Jonathan Lewis Seward, (Lahir 18 November 1984), lebih dikenal dengan nama Johnny Christ, adalah bassis dari Avenged Sevenfold. Zacky Vengeance

Zachary James Baker (lahir 11 Desember 1981 lebih dikenal dengan nama Zacky Vengeance) adalah gitaris dan backing vocal dari grup musik Avenged Sevenfold.

 Zacky adalah anak sulung, mempunyai saudara perempuan yang bernama Zina, dan saudara laki-laki bernama Matt. Orangtuanya bernama James dan Maria. Zacky mempunyai pacar bernama Gena Paulhus. Zacky memelihara anjing yang diberi nama Ichabod Crane Vengeance.

Pada DVD Avenged Sevenfold yang berjudul All Excess, Zacky mengatakan bahwa sebelum dia memasuki Avenged Sevenfold, dia sempat menjadi anggota dari grup musik beraliran punk rock bernama MPA atau Mad Porno Action yang gagal mencapai sukses. Maka itu Zacky dan M. Shadows membentuk Avenged Sevenfold.

Zacky mempelajari cara bermain gitar ketika dia berumur tiga belas tahun. Dia belajar secara otodidak. Gitar yang pertama kali ia gunakan adalah gitar ayahnya.
